As I’m sure most of you are aware, it’s been an interesting few weeks in the market. Over the past fourteen days, the global markets have experienced significant volatility. Unfortunately, the market has trended toward the negative side of that volatility. The overall impact on your own portfolio depends on your asset allocation – as we know, the more exposure to stock and equities that you have, the more your portfolio will rise and fall with the market volatility.
David and I spend a lot of time talking with clients about the “long view” and investing for the long term. We look at each client’s ability, willingness, and need to take risk as we develop recommendations for portfolio allocation. It is during these times of volatility that we hope our clients are able to take comfort in the fact that they have a well-thought plan guiding their portfolios.
I’m including a link to an article that quotes a number of financial advisors, one of whom is a fellow BAM Alliance advisor who frequently contributes to CNBC.com. If you’re experiencing market stress, please take a few minutes and read the article.
